During spring and summer months a river that flows through Białka Tatrzańska becomes a destination of kayaking expeditions. Białka is a mountain river, so it is better to ask a specialist's advice before starting an adventure - where to start, what are the difficulties and what equipment should be used to go with the flow on the Białka river.
Białka, the right influent of Dunajec, starts as a confluent of two brooks - Rybi Potok and Biała Woda - its current in the first phase runs along the most popular tourist trail in Polish Tatras - to Morskie Oko from Palenica.
Białka is the only place in Polish Tatras where you can go rafting on white waters. Thus it is better to be well prepared, aware of one's skills and to gain as much information as possible. It's worth taking into consideration the offer of professionals who organize kayaking and rafting trips as the conditions on the river change rapidly. It applies especially to the segment of the river from Jurgów to Czarna Góra where Summer Kayaking Camp takes place. It is possible to go rafting even in the upper part of Białka to the Javorinka river mouth. This segment is full of beautiful nature sights, but only advanced kayakers can go there due to extreme difficulties. You also need a permission granted by Tatrzański Park Narodowy and border guars.
Back to the easier part of Białka river - in the town of Białka Tatrzańska and further on to Dębno brigde. This is the trail of pretty views and mostly calm kayaking. After the bridge, the river connects with Czorsztyńskie lake and later on with Dunajec.
You can also go kayaking on Dunajec river, you will reach starting points within an hour drive from Białka Tatrzańska. Terma Bania's thermal waters await for the kayakers to soothe their muscles and relax after day of intensive exertion.
