Rusinowa Clearing is said to be a place overlooking 100 Tatra’s peaks and cols. Here you can experience one of the best views in the whole Tatra area and it is really easy to reach. Recently modernised trail from Wierch Poroniec makes it possible to wander even with trolley. We recommend two track variations:
- green trail from Wierch Poroniec – for superbeginners, child-in-a-trolley carriers and those who long for calm walk in beautiful surroundings,
We start at parking near Wierch Poroniec. The parking cost is 25 PLN for the whole day and it is best to come here early to make sure you will find parking spot. Here you can also buy entrance tickets to the Tatra National Park. The trail is very well prepared and even. At first there are two short ascents but after that the track is nearly flat. To reach Rusinowa Clearing you have to wander about 3,2 km which takes around one hour.
- blue trail from Dolina Filipka through Wiktorówki – a bit more demanding, for children who want to experience their first mountain adventures with their parents.
The trail begins at a parking near Dolina Filipka. Keep in mind that along the way is Wiktorówki Sanctuary and the church holds holy masses every Sunday, so finding a parking spot may be difficult. This track is shorter than the green one, but it takes more time to reach Rusinowa Clearing as the ascent is more steep. The trail is not demanding though pushing a trolley up would me more than complicated, not to say impossible. Wiktorówki Sanctuary mentioned above is a must-visit – a picturesque wooden church surrounded by trees on the mountain slope with symbolic cemetery of people that stayed in the Tatras for eternity. After Wiktorówki you have about 20 minutes to Rusinowa Clearing. This trail is excellent for parents who want to familiarize their children with mountain excursions – tiring at first with a great reward - beautiful views at the end.
Rusinowa Clearing
You reached your target! Congratulations! Now you can relax and admire the views. One pro tip for you: there is a bacówka on the clearing, a highlander’s hut where the famous oscypek cheese is made. Make sure to try it, especially when you travel between may and september, when grass-fed sheep’s milk is deliciously creamy and sweet. The cheese sold at Krupówki are nothing when compared to this real deal from Rusinowa Clearing. There are also some wooden tables and benches where you can sit and enjoy your tea or sandwich. All of there in the beautiful surrounding overlooking Tatras panorama, sometimes in a company of lovely sheeps.
Mountain bonus
Not too tired? Go conquer Gęsia Szyja mountain! Its name translates as goose’s neck – go and see why! You should reach its peak in about 45 minutes from Rusinowa Clearing.
