(Almost) stable weather
The weather in the mountains is not fickle from time to time. It is fickle all the time. But in autumn it is somehow more predictable. Comparing this year’s July with its rain and clouds, September looks like a bride-to-be. Temperature is much milder, around 20 degrees Celsius. Of course, there also are some rainy and cloudy days, but they do not stay for ages, just come and go. So there are heavy chances you get at least good few days of good weather during your stay. As always, we remind you to read Tatra National Park’s notices and check weather every time you plan to go up the mountains.
Crowds? Where?
Our magnetic Tatras attract hiking and mountain landscape enthusiasts throughout the year and in almost any weather conditions. Though any month can’t beat August in terms of the amount of tourists visiting Tatras. That is another advantage of autumn as a period to travel here. Especially if you look for solitude, calm and respite in the mountains. It’s also good to choose less popular hiking trails that are often more picturesque than the ‘top choices’.
